A few weeks ago, I drove up to Montecito from LA for an at-home family session at this client’s gorgeous home. I had been there a few times before (for their 10-year anniversary party 4 years ago and for their family session last year), and knew that the session would be so full of pretty spaces on this gray morning near Santa Barbara.
Here are my favorite images from their session in their beautiful space where they get to spend their time, play, laugh and love. And with four kids around, there is a plenty of playing, laughing and loving to go around.
There’s something about this photo that makes me flash forward 30 years to when the four of them might all have their own kids who look back on this photo in an effort to see what their parents were like when they were young.
So much love for little brother!
The energy of this photo- this describes their family best of all!
I have a lot of favorites from the session, but this simple portrait of everyone looking pleasantly at the camera, and the two older kids hugging like they really love each other- this one should be printed big and framed in the home somewhere for sure.
I love photographing at-home family sessions to document a family’s home along with the people who live there.
With any family session, you have to just give the kids time to do what they want and get some energy out.
When the parents kiss and the kids freak out… ha!
