Last week I flew up to San Francisco to meet up with Jen and Don for their engagement session in the city. My plan was to just fly up early in the morning and fly back in the evening since my week was so busy. My day started early… I purposely scheduled an early flight so that I would have a little time to just roam around the city to take photos and just enjoy being out of LA for a little while. Well… my flight ended up being delayed by almost three hours because of fog in the Bay Area, so I ended up arriving just in time to start the session. Gotta love travel interruptions!
Despite the flight mess, I had a great time shooting in San Francisco with these two! After spending some time with them both, I know that their wedding in January is going to be so much fun and can’t wait for it.
I met them at The Palace of Fine Arts, which I absolutely loved!
It took Don a little time to warm up to the camera and the process of taking photos… but every photo in which he’s looking at Jen, he looks totally relaxed, comfortable and happy! It was so nice seeing how they interact with one another.
There’s something so peaceful and relaxing about this image to me.
It was kind of windy, but I loved what that did to Jen’s hair in some shots.
This place reminded me of something you’d see in Europe. Makes me want to go back there so badly.
Love these teal doors which led inside the Exploratorium.
Then we made our way over to Fort Point for an awesome view of the Golden Gate Bridge and also of Alcatraz and the city from across the bay. I love this shot of the bridge even though it was this fog that kept me from arriving according to plan.
LOVE! One of my favorites.
From the Sneak Peek.
Another favorite.
Love this series and all of the patterns created in the background.
Our final stop was the Sutro Baths. What an amazing view! Loved this place.
They changed into something more casual and rocked their sweatshirts for a few shots.
Love this series! How awesome would this be as a series of large canvas gallery wraps on a wall in their home?
Jen & Don– Thanks so much for a great afternoon! I only wish I could have hung around in SF longer. I can’t wait to see you guys in January and maybe even sooner.
Heather, these are beautiful!! What lens did you use to take the 1st one of Fort Point, the view is great and probably one of the best photos I’ve seen from that angle! Great job!
Hey Leslie! Thanks so much for the comment! I actually used the Canon 35mm 1.4 for this entire shoot.
These are gorgeous, Heather. I love the mix of soft curves and hard lines and so many cool locations. Great session
