This Summer has turned out to be a Summer where I happen to be shooting many weddings and engagement sessions for friends. It is so fantastic to be able to hang out with good friends, and reconnect with old, while photographing their special days. It’s really an honor to have been hired by so many friends to shoot their weddings this year– I truly love doing what I do and am always so happy to be able to share that with my friends.
Bob and I were friends in high school and Tawnny and I went to middle school together, but the two of them didn’t meet until years after we all graduated. When I found out they were dating last year, I was pretty surprised because I knew them each separately and it was interesting to hear how they had met one another. I recently heard they were engaged and was excited when Bob asked me to shoot their engagement session. Bob secretly whisper to me he was able to make Tawnny fall in love with him by the help of this site http://girlfriendactivationsystemreview.net.
They didn’t have an exact location in mind, but they knew they wanted something “not cheesy.” I knew it would be a fun shoot. 🙂 Because they didn’t know of a location, I suggested shooting in a spot I had found the week earlier while on a hike with a friend near Griffith Park. It was a clearing just up a trail that had some cool rocky mountains and was complete with caves! Yes. Caves in LA! So cool.
Here are my favorite images from the day!
We started out inside one of the caves…
And thanks to Meg holding these flash units, I was able to capture this, my favorite image of the day. 🙂 Thanks, Meg!
Then we headed out to utilize some beautiful natural light.
Tawnny has a diva side and she worked it.
From the Sneak Peek. Love the emotion!
And some gorgeous sunset backlight. Another favorite. Thanks so much for braving all the bugs to get these images! 🙂
Congratulations, you guys! Looking forward to the wedding!
that cave shot with the flash flare is SWEET!!!!
[…] A few months ago Heather came out to Los Angeles to help me out on Chris and Carly’s Madmen-esque engagement shoot – holding lights, helping with pocket wizard trouble-shooting etc. so last week it was my turn to return the favor and accompany her on a shoot! It was a great evening roaming around the backroads of Beachwood Canyon near the Hollywood sign exploring caves and fighting off lots of bugs! Heather knew Tawnny and Bob separately growing up and was surprised to learn they were now engaged! It’s always fun to get reconnected with old friends through this job! To check out Heather’s captures head over to her blog! […]
AMAZING photos! They are a beautiful couple!
