Sarah, Aaron and Moses- what can I say about this adorable family? I first met with them back in 2010 in preparation for shooting their amazing wedding (which I blogged here and here). It was one of those beautiful, fun, truly celebratory days that I will definitely never forget. I’ve been thankful to see their family grow with the addition of sweet little Moses as I sometimes see them at various events and weddings of their friends I have photographed. They are a special family to me and one I hope to photograph and continue to keep in touch with for many years.
We had been trying to set up a family session ever since Moses was very tiny, so I was really happy when we were finally able to choose a date! We thought it would be fun to go back to the place where they married almost 3 years ago, her father’s home. It was so fun getting to see Moses run around in the very place they vowed to love each other forever. 🙂
How cute is he?? He makes me smile.
I had visions for a sun-filled session with this kind of setting. But, of course, the one day in July when it was a little sprinkly and overcast was the day we did the session. Things have a way of working out because I think I love the colors of the overcast skies so much more. Especially with that awesome dress Sarah wore!
I approach family sessions very differently now that I had Charlotte. I want to get the family interacting as much as possible, and I usually follow the lead of the little one allowing them to lead the session. There’s no making a toddler sit for a photo if that’s not what they want to do! Moses wanted to put his feet in the pool, so that’s what we did…
A favorite. 🙂
As I mentioned with my last post, it’s that time of year again to start planning and booking your Holiday Family Sessions! I’m offering a special on mini and full family sessions between now and 11/1/13. So if you were inspired by this shoot to schedule a family session of your own, I’d love to hear from you! Just email me for details!
