This is the season of babies! At least it is around here. There was an eight-day span in May where I had the pleasure of shooting four different newborn sessions- and I loved it! It’s really special to be able to document the first days of a new life and the family that brought him or her into the world. This session was especially close to my heart as baby Shreya belongs to one of my long-time friends Anjana, whose wedding I photographed last year. Click here to see that fantastic wedding.
Here are my favorite images from their session. Usually a newborn will wake for at least a little bit during their session, but sweet Shreya slept the entire time.
This room in the house was basically a photographer’s dream. A wall of windows, clean white walls… dreamy.
Anjana’s parents were there so we had to get a few of the happy new grandparents! Shreya is their first grandchild and I just love this shot so much.
I have a few favorites from the session, but this is definitely high on that list.
I love how this image on the right highlights how very small she is. I know from experience they grow so fast…
A few more photos of mama and baby wrapped in a special sari given to them just before Shreya was born.
Ending with another favorite of the day.
Welcome to the world, Shreya!
