Manhattan Beach Engagement Photos - Kristi & David - Los Angeles Photographer

One of my favorite things to hear from couples when I first meet them is the story of how they met. There are so many ways to meet people in this world and, to me, it’s simply the best thing to hear the story of how two people connected and fell in love…

I had never met Kristi and David before our session, so I asked to hear the story of how they met each other as we began the shoot. Kristi was Maid of Honor in her sister’s wedding, David was the Best Man. They met, connected, started dating, and five years later they are planning their own wedding. Such a beautifully simple story, yet I was grinning ear to ear when I heard it. It’s a story that seems so familiar because it’s like something straight out of a romantic film. However, of all the weddings I’ve photographed (and I’ve been trying really hard to figure out how many this is exactly…), I’ve never known a Maid of Honor and Best Man to connect and fall in love- this was a first and it totally made my day. 🙂

We began their session with a few photos at their place so that we could include their cat Charles. Kristi has had Charles for nine years and anyone who knows Kristi knows how important Charles is to her. I’m not sure if it was me or the sounds of my camera, but I’m going to take the credit for having the skills to get a cat to pose for some photos. 🙂
