Brooklyn Wedding Photos – Selene & Josh – Featured on Style Me Pretty New York!

The time has finally come that I can share one of my favorite weddings of 2012 with you thanks to it finally being featured today on Style Me Pretty New York! You may remember Selene & Josh from their really unique engagement session we shot in Coney Island back in 2011. It was obvious from that shoot that Selene & Josh are fun, creative people and I knew their wedding would not disappoint, especially because the ladies behind Firefly Events were involved. Below are my favorite images as well as a little about the story behind the wedding day. Make sure to check out the feature on Style Me Pretty New York also to see more detail images and read more about the planning from Selene’s point of view. πŸ™‚

Selene and the girls got ready at the awesome Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn. They booked the best room that got the best light and had a stellar view of Manhattan. I could have shot in that one room all day!

Selene is a very talented cinematographer who sometimes freelances for Fifty Foot Films, an incredible wedding cinematography based in both LA and NY, who was also there to document their day on film. See the bottom of this post to see a link to the trailer!

Selene chose a spectacular Claire Pettibone dress that just happened to go so well with the decor of this room. Honestly, Claire Pettibone never fails… so good.

It was a blustery day and we kept thinking it may rain… the rain never came, but boy was it windy! Loved the drama it created in Selene’s handmade veil.

This bridesmaid also designed and handmade all the headpieces for the girls. Loved this special touch!

Meanwhile, my lovely 2nd shooter Heidi was with the guys at their apartment getting ready…

Josh runs a set of music venues in Brooklyn called The Wick and The Well- two amazing, cool spaces for music events. They got married on the roof of The Wick- such amazing views.

The Ceremony.

So many favorites from this wedding… and this is one of them.

Loved shooting Paul doing his thing with the 16mm camera as part of this day’s story.

Then it was time to party…

Fun fact: this venue was still a bit of a work-in-progress when the wedding day came… just a few days before the wedding, it didn’t even have a floor! But, everything came together just in time and it was a really freakin’ cool place for a reception.

Candles and string lights everywhere…

I had SO many photos I loved from this wedding that I couldn’t put them all into this post, so I created a slideshow that has even more than I’ve posted here. Check out the slideshow here!

And here’s the link to the beautiful film trailer that Fifty Foot Films created of the day.

Finally, don’t forget to check out the feature on SMP New York for all the vendors involved. πŸ™‚
