A Wedding on Kauai – Katherine & Adam

Katherine and I have a special story. It’s a crazy story of how, when we met, we were simply photographer and client, but within 10 minutes of chatting we knew we’d be connected in some way for life. It’s a story I like to tell when talking to people about how incredibly small this world can seem sometimes… Long story short- my parents sold her parents our old house back in the late 80s. She grew up in my old house and we had no idea of that crazy connection until the day I shot their engagement session last year. I wrote about that story in detail in their engagement session post – check it out if you’d like to learn a little more and see the photos from that shoot. 🙂

One year later, I found myself on Kauai with Katherine and Adam and all of their friends and family to photograph their beautiful wedding. Katherine and Adam are two of the kindest, sweetest people and they are such an amazing couple. Their love and respect for on another is obvious, and you can’t help but feel happy when you’re around them. I was so honored to be there to photograph their wedding. Thanks so much to Mary for coming with and helping me out! She is an amazing friend and photographer and I was so happy to have her make the trip with me. 🙂

Here are some of my favorite photos from the day.

Katherine was a stunning bride.

This one was shot by the lovely Mary. Love it!

This was the view from the ceremony site at the Sheraton Kauai… Such a beautiful place!

Married!! <3

After the ceremony, we took some time for photos of the bride and groom. 🙂

Another shot by Mary… so beautiful.

The first dance.

It started to sprinkle a bit during the reception, but it didn’t keep anyone from having a good time. 🙂

At one point during that day I thought about how crazy it is that my mom remembers seeing Katherine as a tiny kid running around, and nearly 25 years later I’m photographing her wedding in paradise. I don’t know how the Universe works, but I like it.

Congratulations, Katherine and Adam! I’m so happy for you!! xoxo
