It’s more and more common these days that the first time I meet my clients in person is on the day of their engagement session. We have either talked over the phone, or met on Skype (which I love!), but less clients are able to find the time to have an in-person meeting with me prior to their first session. And so, walking up to the engagement session is often like approaching a blind date… you’re not exactly sure who you’re looking for, but you hope that they will find you before you accidentally smile and wave at the wrong couple (which absolutely has happened to me before). Luckily, Sarah recognized me as I was walking up to the Griffith Observatory for our shoot, so that awkward moment was thankfully avoided and I was greeted with two warm hugs from people I had just met, but quickly grew to really enjoy within the first few clicks of my shutter.
Over a few emails, we had decided that Griffith Observatory would be a perfect place for their session. They both live in and are from Orange County, but were happy to venture up to LA for a change of scenery. They wanted something natural and beautiful and I thought this was the perfect place. Not only is the Observatory an amazing building (and my favorite place in LA), it has incredible views and is surrounded by tons of hiking trails and beautiful nature that makes you feel like you’re far from the chaos of the streets of Los Angeles.
Here are my favorite images from our time together.
Can’t wait for your wedding next year!
