In-Home Family Portraits – Baby Landin

I love my career so much, not only for the work I get to create, but for the people it has brought into my life. Back in 2010, a group of women photographers got together to network and share what we knew about photography and the industry. Little did we know that 7 years later we would become super close friends. Not only have we all grown professionally in those years, but we have seen each other through every possible life thing you can imagine. Ala Cortez is one of those women and I’m so lucky to get to call her a friend.

If you follow along with Ala’s personal blog or her Instagram, you know that her and her husband’s journey to parenthood was not easy. But, they showed so much strength and courage as they persevered and it all paid off when sweet Landin came into this world. This girl is such a bright light, not only for her parents, but for the entire world around her. A few moments with this girl and you know she’s something special.

She was 7 months old when we shot their in-home family portraits last month and I was so happy to get to document such a special time for my dear friends. Newborn sessions are so special and important, but this 6-7-month-old time is so much fun because babies are totally interactive and engaged… and don’t get me started on how cute this chubby thigh stage is…
