Bel Air Estate Wedding – Alexandra & Jonathan

I’ve always loved the idea of a backyard wedding- so much so that my own wedding took place in the backyard of a house in Palm Springs! But the term “backyard wedding” has a whole new meaning for a Bel Air estate wedding like this one. From the Oscar de la Renta gown to the lush florals of Hollyflora, the whole day was about sophistication and beauty and was the perfect celebration for Alexandra & Jonathan. Thank you to RO & Co Events for making sure everything ran flawlessly that day!

A bride who wears Manolo Blahnik’s on her wedding day is okay by me. 🙂

Oscar has a way with architectural gowns and Alexandra knew right away that this was the dress for her.

Alexandra & I had never met prior to the wedding, but a few days before the big day I learned that she was an actual model. Needless to say, the part of my job where I direct portraits was pretty easy that day.

Such a fun group of bridesmaids!

The home where the wedding took place was full of such charming, traditional decor and I loved everything about that. So different from what I’d be able to shoot in a hotel.

I normally love a plain white wall… but I couldn’t resist this pattern on pattern situation happening with the drapes and wall covering!

Had to get the light, white and airy shot also… 🙂 Photo tip: when you don’t have a plain wall in the getting ready room, turn toward the window and use the sheer drapes to diffuse light for this dreamy, ethereal feel!

Not only was the bride’s bag super sparkly and fun, it was designed by her bridesmaid who just happens to be one of the hottest bag designers out there Tyler Ellis!

There’s something about this image that makes it a favorite.

The dapper groom all ready to go.

Ceremony time!

Either I or my 2nd shooter will always hang back with the bride and whoever is walking with her down the aisle prior to the ceremony. There’s always bound to be a special moment between them before they take that walk…

Alexandra & Jonathan had a great timeline for the day which allowed for not doing a First Look. So, this was the first time Jon got to see his bride…

Such a pretty arch by Hollyflora!

Married!

Time for portraits!

Definitely not your typical backyard for this Bel Air estate wedding…

Congratulations, Alex and Jon!!
